What Are Comprehensive Eye Exams?

Comprehensive eye exams performed by our seasoned optometrists, Dr. Holmberg and Dr. Patel, include various components. Our eye doctor will examine the outer and inner parts of your eye thoroughly. We can address any concerns, such as conjunctivitis or dry eyes or offer treatment for certain conditions. These conditions may include macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma and even eye problems related to systemic conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure.

What to Expect During Your Eye Exam

Our optometrists will first dilate your pupils with medicated eye drops. This allows us to see the interior structures of your eyes, such as the retina and optic nerve. Not only that, but it also helps us detect eye diseases like diabetic retinopathy or macular degeneration early. We perform eye functioning tests as well to determine how well your eyes are focusing, converging, and moving in coordination.

We provide these services to people of all ages. It's never too early to instill proactive vision care in your kids. We recommend bringing your children in for their first eye examination no later than entering Kindergarten. At the other end of the spectrum we help our more seasoned neighbors see better and do better. And, of course, we care for everyone in between!

The Importance of Regular Eye Exams

Why is it important to have your vision and eye health checked every year? Many disorders show few or no symptoms in the early stages, which makes it imperative that we find and correct eye related problems promptly. If you have nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, we'll regularly monitor changes in your vision. Along with that, we’ll update your prescription and can suggest the right contact lenses and eyeglasses to help you see clearly.
